Justin Holz

I am a Postdoctoral Scholar in the Department of Economics at the University of Chicago. In Fall 2023, I will join the Ford School of Public Policy at the University of Michigan as an Assistant Professor.

My current research explores how racial discrimination affects the consequences of minimum wage policies, inequity in property taxes, debt amnesties in developing countries, and the causes and consequences of police misconduct. The Russell Sage Foundation, the Inter-American Development Bank, the Chicago Experiments Initiative, and the National Opinion Research Center have generously supported this research.

I earned my PhD from the Harris School of Public Policy at the University of Chicago. Before attending the Harris School, I was the Associate Director of the Chicago Experiments Initiative at the University of Chicago. I am also an affiliated researcher at the Joint Initiative for Latin American Experimental Economics.
